Peter Brandt has been awarded a grant from The Council of The Danish Victims Fund /
Congratulations to Peter Brandt for being awarded a grant from The Council of The Danish Victims Fund to produce a comprehensive book centred on his work on gender, violence and trauma.
The book "No Safe Place" will contain all works from his personal violence/trauma trilogy "I Died In Italy But No One Knows It" (2007-10), "Post Trauma Documents" (2011-15) and "The Scream" (2016-19). There will be essays by Jeppe Ugelvig and Linda Fagerström and a conversation between Brandt and author and artist Tomas Lagermand Lundme.
The book will be published in the Autumn of 2019.

Opal Spaces is proud to present our second online exhibition Works On Paper, May 23 - May 26, 2019. During these days, Copenhagen, Denmark, turns into a vibrant center for contemporary art due to the fact that Art Week Copenhagen is making it's mark on the city. We strongly recommend everyone to attend the events and exhibitions related to Art Week Copenhagen.
At the same time, Opal Spaces will offer a selection of works created by some of Denmark's best artists working within the field of contemporary art. And with this purpose in mind Opal Spaces has curated Works On Paper.
Artworks from Works On Paper are available around the world exclusively online; for full details and informational texts regarding the show and the biography of the participating artists, please see "Viewing Room" and "Artists" on our website: opalspaces.com
Works On Paper has the drawing, the print and the paper's sensory materiality as a medial and thematic rotation point. Nature, form and bodily experiences are inspirational points of departure for the artists in the show.

Dorte Jelstrup and Kathrine Ærtebjerg won the Open Call at Den Frie Udstillingsbygning, Copenhagen, Denmark, with the exhibition project Writings of Bodies <<< We Know It From The Inside >>>. The exhibition will be held November 30, 2019, till January 5, 2020, at Den Frie Udstillingsbygning, Copenhagen, Denmark.
The exhibition Writings of Bodies <<< We Know It From the Inside >>> takes its philosophical starting point in the legendary and ecstatic core text of Helene Cixous "The Laugh of The Medusa" from 1976, where Cixous emphasizes the overriding centrality of the fact that women write and creatively give shape to their bodily based experiences in textual artifacts, thus also in visual artworks.
